The Dune of Pilat is located in La Teste-de-Buch in the Arcachon Bay area of France. It is also known as the Great Dune of Pyla.
The Dune of Pilat is the largest and tallest sand dune in Europe. The dune measures 1.86 miles (3 km) long and 1,640 feet (500 m) wide and accounts for 60,000,000 cubic meters of sand. The height of the dune ranges from 328 to 383 feet (110 to 117 m) above sea level.
